Company Training and E-Learning

Online learning has conquered not only the field of education but the world of business as well. A lot of companies are presently using affordable learning management system software to train newly hired employees.
Online training gives several advantages. First and foremost is the reduction of training costs. The business need not hire qualified trainers, or pay for the training venue as well as provide for the expenses of the employees. Training will be done in the office using the computers of the employees.
With the use of power point presentation and flash presentation employees will learn easily and are likely to retain the knowledge more than if they are attending a traditional training session. And since the training can be done at the most convenient time for the employee the business will not be disrupted.
Improving employee performance and skills however, is not assured if the learning management system used is not carefully planned and designed. Since the decision to train is left in the hands of the employees, the course should have motivations to entice the employee to log in. Some companies would “dump” the training materials in a power point presentation and expect improved employee performance. This is a wrong assumption as along with the online learning, on the job training and other learning involvements are needed to improve employee performance.
